What we don’t know, we fear, a talk about London industry given to an audience from Netherlands.
Mark Brearley presented a talk entitled ‘What we don’t know, we fear’ at the BT Congres, Zandaam, Netherlands on 29 October 2020. This is the annual conference for owners and developers of industrial accommodation in the Netherlands. The theme of the event concerned how working can remain within the reach of living?
Mark was also interviewed regarding industry in cities, his experience from London, and the relevance of learning from London to Netherlands. Mark argued that entrepreneurship in mixed urban areas needs space, and took the audience through the enormous challenges that cities such as London face in keeping these functions in the city. Mark has years of experience with projects aimed at preserving and strengthening the local manufacturing industry in the city, reflected in this talk.
“At the BT Event 2020 we looked at our inner cities from the perspective of the bustling city. Because if cities only live and shop, the quality of life will be in jeopardy. The battle for space is a fact. How do we also keep an eye on the creation of economically vibrant cities?”
