Haringey draft Local Plan documents consultation representations
Cities lodge responses and objections to the Haringey Draft Local Plan 2015.
In 2015 Haringey undertook a consultation of its Draft Local Plan documents and Cities lodged responses to the plans. Having for several years taken a close interest in the processes of urban change in Haringey, Cities had undertaken several audits in the Upper Lea Valley including a study of Tottenham High Road and Jane Clossick’s PhD. In particular, the responses noted some of the NPPF paragraphs that the documents failed to meet the requirements of. Most notably, Cities objected to the failure to properly understand and assess the needs of business and the civic economy, and a failure to help meet those needs as much as a local plan can (as required by NPPF paras 14, 17, 19, 20, 21, 23, 154, 156, 157, 161).
“It is crucial for the future of Haringey borough and London as a whole that this plan is fundamentally re-considered, and adequate policies and plan designations be put in place to manage change so that it supports a positive, diverse and vibrant future.”
